Question
How to create / update users and phones in PureCloud in bulk.
Answer
First you will need to download the
people import example template file
. This is located within PureCloud
People section
.
Go to
Admin
>
People
>
Bulk Import

Tips
: Ensure that the
roles_division
column is set using the following format
role:[division], role2:[division], etc.
Example -
employee:[UHRL], PureCloud User:[UHRL], PureCloud Supervisor:[UHRL]
You can also use this method to mass update users. You can switch users from a division or role in bulk.
When your file is completed you can browse to its location and import. You will be presented with a preview of the work that will be completed.
During this phase you can check the box to update existing people if they exist already. You can also opt to send the invite now by checking the box. If you do not want to send the invite now you can simply come back later and import the file again and check send invite now but you must then Update existing people for that to work.
Once completed you will get a confirmation screen that the import job is done. IT may also alert you to any errors in your file or record conflict.
Now you must create the phones for these users.

Telephone Management
>
Import
You will be able to download a fresh template from here.
The phone template only requires 4 fields
Name of phone which we always use the person name.
base which will be WebRTC
site which will be Temple University
email which will be the same email from the people import.

Once you are ready to import you will get a preview of what will be completed.
Ensure you check the box
Use e-mail to set phone as User's default
.
This will allow the users to sign right in and have a phone assignment.
You have now imported and created phones for multiple users with a few clicks. This will allow updating and onboarding of entire departments to be done quickly. You can then queue up the invites for the day of training by preserving the people import file.
