How do I import material from a past semester into a new Canvas course?

To import material from a past semester into a new Canvas course:

• Navigate to your new Canvas course.
• In the Course Navigation Menu on the left, click “Settings” at the bottom.
• On the right side of the page, click “Import Course Content.”
• Select “Copy a Canvas Course” in the drop-down menu.
• Select the previously taught course that contains the content you would like to copy from the drop-down menu.
• Do not adjust Events and Due Dates. Choose Specific Content - Do not bring over Calendar events or Announcements.
• Click “Import.” Once the loading bar reads “Complete,” you can navigate to Home and all content should be there.

If client is a professor or teaching the course, please direct them to Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT). CAT can further assist client with their issues regarding canvas. Client has the option to:

• Book an appointment for general help or course set-up via Catbooking (catbooking.temple.edu)
• Access Canvas workshops and special events
