Canvas LMS

Canvas is Temple University’s official Learning Management System (LMS), providing a web-based platform for faculty, staff, and students to manage courses, deliver content, assess learning, and collaborate. Developed by Instructure, Canvas supports both in-person and online teaching and learning.

Faculty and instructors teaching Temple courses, Students enrolled in Temple courses and staff with roles related to course design, coordination, or support.

• Canvas is automatically available to faculty and students via TUportal or by going directly to canvas.temple.edu. Access is provisioned using Banner enrollment data.
• Faculty may request support or integrations (such as third-party LTIs) through Academic Applications.

• Course creation and enrollment processes are automated and governed by Academic Applications.
• Support for third-party integrations is limited to approved, tested tools.
• Faculty must request administrative privileges or new LTIs through appropriate channels.
• Accessibility and security testing is required for any external tools integrated with Canvas.
