Wired Internet on Campus (Ethernet)

What is this Offering?

Wired Internet service provides high-speed, secure Ethernet connectivity across Temple University offices and facilities within the continental United States. Managed by Network Services, the system is built using industry standards and supports the university’s core networking needs. This infrastructure ensures consistent and reliable access for students, faculty, and staff, with flexibility for future network expansion.

Who is Eligible to use it?

This service is available to all Temple-affiliated offices and facilities within the continental United States. It includes academic, administrative, and operational spaces that require Ethernet access as part of daily university functions. It does not extend to personal devices or international campuses but does allow consultation for satellite locations like Temple Rome or Temple Japan.

How do I use it?/How do I Request it?

To request wired install, activation or deactivation of wired internet service or report issues, please use the "Request Ethernet Services" option on the right side of the page. Installation and support are coordinated directly with Network Services, who will oversee deployment and configuration based on university network standards. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support is also included for eligible devices.

Cost and Limitations

This service is included as part of Temple’s standard networking infrastructure. It does not support personal networking devices like routers or switches unless formally reviewed and approved by Network Services. Wired internet service is not available at TU Rome or TU Japan, but guidance can be provided. All requests are subject to infrastructure availability and security compliance reviews.
