Microsoft Teams Messaging

What is this Service?

Microsoft Teams Messaging is a collaborative communication service that allows students, faculty, and staff to connect through a shared workspace in the Microsoft Teams application. Part of the Office 365 suite, Microsoft Teams offers integrated team chat, one-on-one messaging, file sharing, and document collaboration — all in one place.

Teams messaging supports real-time collaboration and communication through:

  • Chat threads and direct messages
  • Integrated file sharing and editing with OneDrive and SharePoint
  • Seamless access to other Microsoft 365 tools like OneNote, Planner, Power BI, and Whiteboard
  • Support for internal and external users to participate in chats and teams

This unified platform streamlines conversations, file collaboration, and planning tools, making it ideal for remote, hybrid, and on-campus work.

Who is Eligible to use it?

Students, Faculty, and Staff. External guests may also be added to Microsoft Teams spaces for collaborative projects, subject to institutional access and security policies.
