Live Streaming Consultation

What is this Offering?

Temple University ITS provides configuration and coordination for live‑streaming campus events through the University’s official YouTube and Panopto channels. Typical use cases include Commencement, Board of Trustees meetings, and School/College ceremonies. ITS sets up the streaming “containers,” supplies stream keys and URLs, works with internal broadcast/marketing teams or third‑party vendors on event day, and ensures the recorded video remains accessible on demand.

Who is Eligible to use it?

University departments, offices, and schools/colleges planning a public‑facing event. Student organizations may request service through a sponsoring department. External vendors must be engaged by a Temple unit and agree to University streaming and captioning standards

How do I use it?/How do I Request it?

  1. Submit a “Live Streaming – Request” ticket on the right at least 10 business days before the event.
  2. Include event date/time, platform preference (YouTube or Panopto), list of stakeholders, and any third‑party vendor contacts.
  3. ITS schedules a test session to verify audio/video, captions, and network throughput.
  4. Prior to the event, ITS provides stream keys, embed codes, and URLs to your broadcasting team.
  5. After the event, the recording is retained and made available for on‑demand viewing.
  6. For live issues, call the ITS Bridge (215‑204‑8000) and reference your ticket number.
