Battery Share Kiosks

What is this Offering? 

Temple University provides automated kiosks where students can borrow portable power banks to charge their laptops or mobile devices while on campus.
Power banks can be borrowed from one kiosk and returned to any other participating kiosk across locations like the library, TECH Center, or Center City campus.

Who is Eligible to use it?

Students, faculty, and staff.

How do I use it?

  • Go to a participating kiosk to borrow a power bank for up to five hours.
  • Return it to any kiosk with an open bay.
  • Bring your own charging cables, as the power bank only includes standard outlets and USB ports.
  • Borrowers must agree to the terms and conditions before use.

Cost and Limitations

  • The service is free, but fines apply if the battery is not returned within 4 hours.
  • Fines are payable at the One Stop Assistance Desk in Charles Library.
  • Power banks are designed to charge a phone or laptop with a 65W adapter for about 2 hours.
  • Charging performance may vary based on your device’s power draw.
  • ITS is not responsible for damage to personal devices.
  • Departments hosting kiosks are responsible for purchase, maintenance, power, and network costs.
