Event Monitoring
Event Monitoring covers monitoring events occurring at the OS and/or application level on a server. Detected events can be used to generate alerts/notifications and/or automation scripts. The service is not to be confused with Log Monitoring
Add/Remove system to monitoring
For systems to be monitored, they must be added to the monitoring software and placed in a group. Requests of this nature should be submitted to have new/existing systems added to or removed from the monitoring software and corresponding groups.
Local Content Management
Local Content Management pertains to the base OS content and select third party content a system has access to. This allows for control over what and when systems have access to installable content.
Add/Remove content to CMS
Software utilized by managed servers is often stored and deployed centrally. Requests of this nature should be submitted whenever new software should be added or removed from our centralized sources.
Publish/Promote content
Software utilized by managed servers have their most recent versions published on a regular schedule. Requests of this nature should be submitted when said updates need to be made available outside of normal schedules or made available to a custom environments/systems

Orchestration
Orchestration covers running user supplied scripts against any number of servers.
Add/Remove script
A script can be run against any number of managed servers. Request of this nature will allow server owners to provide system administrators with a script to be run against systems.
Run script
User provided scripts can be run against any number of systems. Request of this nature will allow server owners to schedule scripts to be run against any number of managed systems.

Server Deployment (Create a Server, Modify a Server, Decommission a Server)
Server Deployments pertain to the provisioning, modification and decommissioning of both physical and virtual servers.
Provision server
Virtual and physical systems can be provisioned for users. These systems can be of the Linux or Windows variety. Said systems will be provisioned in a way that they comply with ITS guidelines and policies. Vendor supplied virtual machines can also be provisioned. Requests of this nature allow users to request resources and/or OS installations.
Decommission server
Deployed systems at some point must be taken out of service. Taking a system out of service involves numerous tasks facilitated by different operational groups. Requests of this nature allow users to have systems taken out of service properly.
Modify server
Over the life of a system, any number of resource changes could be needed (i.e. cpu, memory, disks, networks). Requests of this nature allows system owner to make resource changes to their ITS managed systems.

System Administration - Click here for TUhelp Item
System Administration pertains to performing basic administrative tasks pertaining to the basic function of the server. Tasks pertaining to the administration of third-party applications is not covered.
Install/Uninstall software
Some software needs to be installed and/or enabled specifically by system administrators. Requests of this nature allow system owners to have OS native software installed or removed.
Add/Remove user
Systems may require customized user access. Requests of this nature allow system owners to have enterprise users added or removed in an ITS compliant manner.
Add/Remove group
Systems may require customized group access. Requests of this nature allow system owners to have enterprise groups added or removed in an ITS compliant manner.
Break/Fix
Problems outside of system owners’ ability to resolve may occur. Requests of this nature allow system owners to have experienced system administrators remedy problems on ITS managed systems.

Uptime Management ensures that servers follow the Reboot/Uptime policy issued by ITS’ Department of Information Security
Add/Remove system(s) to reboot group
Rebooting of managed systems is facilitated monthly. Servers are labeled within their respective management systems as to whether they are to be rebooted. Requests of this nature allows server owners to opt in or out of automated rebooting.
Reboot system(s)
Rebooting takes place at a scheduled time every month. Ad-hoc rebooting is available for systems opted out of automated rebooting or to satisfy a specific need. Requests of this nature allows server owners to request ad-hoc rebooting of their system(s).
