Overview
Information Technology Services sets up new computers to properly connect to the university network. Systems are set up to comply with university policies and Information Security standards. Computers set up by Information Technology Services will receive support for the life of the system warranty.
Information Technology Services supports Main, HSC, TUCC, and Ambler campuses.
Note: Schools, Colleges, and Departments having dedicated IT support staff may receive service levels that differ from this offering. School, College, and Departmental IT staff will work directly with their clients once the requests are submitted.
Computer setup includes:
- Backing up business-related data from a prior system and transferring data to the new system
- Configuring workstation to access either a wired or wireless university network
- Installing university site licensed approved software as part of a computer image
- Installing additional licensed software as needed
- Acting as liaison when vendor support is required to install third party software
- Connecting to all necessary devices, such as printers and scanners, required for daily business operations
The base setup for a new Microsoft Windows computer includes:
- Windows 10 Enterprise with available Windows updates
- Microsoft Office 365
- Windows Defender for Endpoint with security settings configuration
- Adobe Reader
- Firefox
- Chrome
The base setup for a new macOS computer includes:
- Monterey
- Microsoft Office 2019
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint with security settings configuration
- Adobe Reader
- Firefox
- Chrome
