What is this Offering? 

The Landline Telephone Service provides reliable, secure, and university-managed Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony to support voice communications across all Temple University campuses. Managed by Telecommunications, this service includes telephone equipment, installation, and access to the university’s voice network infrastructure, including 911 emergency services and directory access.

It is designed for departments and units requiring consistent, high-quality phone service.

Who is Eligible to use it?

This service is available to all Temple University departments and administrative offices located on supported campus networks.

How do I Use it?/How do I Request it?

To request a new landline phone, modify service, or report an issue, submit a request on the right-hand side. Installation, support, and service management are coordinated by Telecommunications.

Cost and Limitations

  • There is a monthly fee for voice service.
  • Additional charges may apply for equipment, installation, and usage beyond local calling.
  • You must inform Telecommunications if you change your office location, so emergency services receive the correct information during a call.
    • Submit an office move ticket: Click Request Telephone Services on the right side of this page and fill out the form. For request type Office Landline Telephone, subtype Move Service.
    • Call Telecommunications: 8-8647 (8-VOIP) on-campus or 215-777-8647 (VOIP) off-campus.
  • Only standard Telecommunications-approved equipment is supported.
  • Service depends on university network availability.
  • User-modified or third-party equipment is not supported.
