Faculty Hire Workflow

What is this Offering? 

A web form that is used by administrators in schools and colleges to put full-time faculty into the Banner System.  The form can be used to process new hires, re-hires, re-appointments, increased compensation and promotions.

Scope

  • Ensure the availability and accessibility of the offering.
  • Provide support for service requests related incidents.
  • Provide security
  • In order to have access to this form the end user must be in TUP_HR_NEWHIRE security class.
  • Form checks Banner Org Security
  • Provide data consistence edits in web form
  • Require the initiator has attached an appointment letter to the web form.
  • For re-hires Extender automatically attaches the letter to the peaempl record in Banner.
  • For new hires, since there is no TUid, Xtender assigns a temporary id beginning with '~'.  Then, HR staff manually indexes the letter.
  • Provide automated approval routing.
  • After submission kicks off the HR_NewHire_ShortTerm_HRS Workflow.
  • First it routes to the department approver.
  • Then, it routes to HR Data Mgt staff where if a new hire they must send the new faculty member an adobe sign request for their ssn and dob.  Once received back Data Mgt enters the ssn and dob into the workflow.
  • Provide audit trail
  • Manage Banner and Xtender integration
  • Inserts all transactions into temple_hrs pzbwfhi table
  • A nightly appworx process processes the workflow transactions and updates Banner.
  • Error reports are created for HR Staff and available via eprint
  • Does not include recruitment
  • Does not include creation of offer letter or process of acceptance of offer.
