Set Up PIN Printing for Windows 11

Setting a PIN within Windows also sets the PIN for all desktop applications.

  1. Right-click the Start menu and select Settings. Then click Bluetooth & devices and then Printers & scanners.
     
  2. Click the HP printer.


     
  3. Click Printing preferences.


     
  4. On the Printing Preferences dialog box:

    a) Navigate to the Job Storage tab.
    b) Set the Job Storage Mode to Personal Job.
    c) Set the Make Job Private/Secure option to PIN to Print.
    d) Enter a four digit personal identification number (PIN). You will use this PIN to release your print job. By default, the User Name is set to your Windows Login Name.
    e) Click OK.
