Microsoft Bookings

What is this Product?

Microsoft Bookings is an application within Microsoft 365 that streamlines appointment scheduling. Temple supports two options:

  • Personal Bookings (Book With Me) – create a personal booking page that shows your free/busy times so students or colleagues can book directly without back‑and‑forth email.
  • Shared Bookings – a team‑based booking page that lets multiple staff offer services (e.g., advising, office‑hours, clinics). Owners define appointment types, staff availability, and business hours; end users self‑schedule via a shareable link or embedded widget.

ITS provisions the Bookings license, maintains service availability, and provides self‑help resources or basic support, depending on the type.

Who is Eligible to use it?

Faculty and staff with an active Microsoft 365 account may request a Bookings license for Personal or Shared pages. Students can book appointments but cannot create booking pages. Sponsored affiliates may be added to a Shared page by a faculty/staff owner.

How do I use it?

Please see Microsoft's bookings FAQ page.

Cost and Limitations

  • There is no charge for the Bookings license or basic support; costs are covered by the University’s Microsoft 365 agreement.
  • Shared Bookings setup and customization are self‑service; ITS offers documentation but not hands‑on configuration or training.
  • Advanced custom features or integrations beyond standard Bookings options are out of scope.
  • Bookings is subject to Microsoft’s service availability and feature roadmap.
  • Only licensed Temple users can be listed as staff on a Shared page.
